The origin of the Maxical family

With regard to the origin of the Maxical family, it dates back to the 1930s, with Manuel Pinto as its precursor until the 1950s. From then on, his son-in-law, Abílio Antunes Pereira, started the development of lime production, extending to 1959, date of his death.

In these years, this gentleman gave a lot of work to people in the nearest places, having been a great energizer, who took the name of this region to many areas of the country (Lisbon, Setúbal, Figueira da Foz, Guarda, Castelo Branco, Viseu, Coimbra and many other regions).

In the 1950s, lime for stucco was introduced to the market, and it is here that Abílio Antunes Pereira launched lime from our region to major stucco works. Ex: Sanctuary Nossa Senhora da Fátima, Palace of Justice and Commerce of Lisbon, Casino da Figueira da Foz, among others

Present The difference in lime production

The difference in lime production

Currently, lime is still produced in artisanal type ovens, and in our country it is already a rarity, this lime with very specific characteristics intended especially for niche markets, namely for the execution of Reconstruction, Rehabilitation, Conservation, Restoration and Whitewash work, as it has these excellent acceptance. Maxical maintains production in artisanal ovens due to the differentiation that has always existed in certain markets where this lime is applied.

We are aware that this strong demand stems from the careful selection process of the raw material and this type of artisanal production.

We work hard to enhance this type of activity and product derived from it, as it is fundamental and of great importance, in order to reverse the disappearance trend, the recognition of this product in economic and cultural terms, due to its real characteristics that make it versatile and incomparable.
